Wonder how long before this thread gets sent upstairs with all this talk of winkles...

and another thing... why don't the upstairs posts get shown when I click on "recent/new posts"?

The problem is that people who talk like that have a contageous disease, because if you listen to them for long enough you start, like, finding yourself doing it

And the same again with 'right'

I went out with a boy once, who had a bad habit of this and my Dad (who's got a wicked dry sense of humour) said, with a completely straight face.. Erm listen sonny, we don't allow the word 'right' to be used in 'this' house OK?..... 3 more times and your OUT!

The boy couldn't speak at all after that and my Dad just kept winking at me and grinning... poor boy!

Re: Grumpy old (or otherwise) women's thread

when we went to those classes you get when you are going to have a baby, pre-natal or somesuch - the woman who did a talk one day had a seriously annoying speech problem - she would end and sometimes even start EVERY sentence with "sort of a". This was only during her pre-arranged speech - so i assume she was a very nervous public speaker. Very weird.

Is it my imagination, or has this thread been hijacked by grumpy men?

    You read my mind

My cousin used to say this all the time, and drove me nuts. When I told him about it, he didn't even realise that he did it!

Those blank phone messages/hang ups I get most days... I know it's some damned casino in Lahore ringing up to tell me that I've won a Spanish holiday through the Canadian lottery, which is why I never answer the phone if I can't see who is calling (or it says "international") - and I have to pay for the privilege of screening these calls

    Also, people who pluralise incorrectly:

Re: Grumpy old (or otherwise) women's thread

Sizing of women's clothes... if you're a 16 or 18, there's a fair chance that you might have a cup size that's bigger than a B... so why don't they cut the the clothes accordingly?

I tried on a top in New Look at lunctime which was too big and baggy round the back, but barely covered my front - and I can imagine the effect dancing in it would have had (two black eyes anyone?)

Yet I know they can do it, as I've a dress from there which covers me perfectly (well almost perfectly ).

Why do different shops have different meanings for sizes 12,14, 16..... What fits me in M&S in the same size won't go over my hips in another!

It's for gorgeously curvaceous ladies like you that Bravissimo was created for now if only every other shop would follow suit.
