    Mulled wine and fireworks?

Jacket potatoes, sausages and baked beans?

Its a shame we can't have a bon fire.

    Re the policing...

I vote the girls bring the cakes and Mulled wine etc and the men provide the sausages etc...
Then, I vote we put DT and Trouble on 'Sausage check-in and inspection duty'.. they can report back on the size and quality of the mens efforts.

lets see if they turn up with 'small ones then'

I have a confession, in hindsight I didnt bring enough, the lack of sleep must have msde me bypass my manners

I bought a pack of yummy muffins for the table and a bottle of wine that I shared. But I ate a sausage, some salad AND a piece of cake In all honesty I wasnt planning on eating because I had been invited to dinner elsewhere (which I later went to but didnt eat at). But the food just looked....so....yummy.
I will give myself a big slap and promise to bring loads next time including a huge bowl of my speciality pasta salad, sausages, burgers and alcohol

I didn't do a BBQ last February - as it is too cold and it also rained - and not thinking of doing one next Feb either - I think we should leave BBQ's for the June and Sept events !

BTW I know a couple of people who are regular BBQ go'ers who come with
nothing and scoff lots and also have no conscience about drinking the booze either - as I said I do know who they are, however, it is not worth making a scene, we still had enough food and booze to go round, if we didn't I would have made a point of asking such individuals to go to the shop to get something - or pointed them out to others

This doesn't include the people who get invited at the last minute and who actually apologise for not bringing anything

    How very dare you!

You should be strung up for that, you terrible person you!

Can't wait to try your bowl of salad, sausages, burgers and alcohol. Just need to throw some ice cream in and it's a complete meal!

You'll need a big barbecue to cook one of them.

    Re: SP Forum BBQ policing...

i could do that! i usually do leek and potato as most people eat it but am open to suggestions!

im kinda hoping we brought enough now - 2 boxes of burgers, a bottle of wine, a few beers and lots of cake (i think i brought 3 loaves plus the weetabix cake to add to lemoncakes tally!) between 3 of us - was a bit disorganised this year tho - was too busy trying to sort out and sew costumes!!!! tried to make sure we brought enough meat and drinks for ourselves and the cakes to share!

    will try harder next time!
