This one makes 4 - I did a Camber JiveTime Nov '05 after I had been dancing about 7 months, another Camber JiveTime May '06, then discovered Southport in Sept '06 ...after that I knew I couldn't miss one, so I haven't (& don't plan to miss any in the future). It's just a bit special

I had a few moments of concern when I was asked to organise a work weekend event the first weekend of June next year. I thought I was going to have to miss Southport! Then I checked and SP is actually end May/early June so its the weekend before my work event. (And means it will be my birthday while I am there! Hoping for lots of birthday dances!)

First was June 2005 on recommendation and must have done a great impression of a 'rabbit caught in headlights'!

Luckily I managed to persuade some poor unsuspecting males to book so I could do June 2006 since then I've been to the lot

Definately the highlight of the dance calanderdue to the organisation teachers and the huge group of likeminded people who I now know to dance and socialise with

Booked for Feb and June already...

Aa a general rule a poll should not be changed from anonymous to public after people have voted. Who wants to publicly admit not to have been to Southport?

    Got to agree to that

An anonymous poll shouldn't then be changed to a public one

Agree with the principal too. But also happy to admit that I haven't been to Southport yet. And why should that be embarrassing Not everyone can/wants to spend all their time roaming the country going to dance weekenders.

In fact, due to other events in my life, doing Bliss this weekend is the first weekender I've done since Bliss last year. And I've been itching to do one as well!

Anyway, since I'm an SP virgin but seriously thinking about it for next year, can anyone sum up for me (in a few easy points) what is so special about SP compared to other weekenders - remembering that I've only been to Bliss so far?

Technically, it can't be changed - as the results are also anonymous to mods also, we can't suddenly make people's votes public.

If it's that important, just do a new poll, that's my suggestion.

I don't mind admitting that I haven't been to Southport. It's always the weekend before my exams so it's a big fat no way for me - exams are far more important. I can go when I qualify.

Why should I be ashamed that I haven't been to one?

Technically, it can be changed – but only by an administrator, not just one of us lowly moderators. But I believe the identity of who has voted for what is still hidden from the administrator (as much as it can be from someone who can see everything) in anonymous polls.
