    But seriously, there must be some compromise possible here!

    I've been wondering about motocross boots, as they have smooth soles, but I think they're likely still to be too grippy and would be too stiff around the ankles.

    Can anyone recommend scary-looking boots that are flexible and have smooth leather soles? My best prospect thus far is these...

    I used to dance all the time in my russian combat boots - may explain the current state of my dancing, but technically I can't see a reason not to.

    You do realise that you can get a leather sole put onto any pair of shoes/boots.
