What about ESG's galleries? Obviously I assume you'd have to pay for images, but there's a good selection there.
I'm toying with a new idea.... I'm wanting to make a range of porcelain work with images of dancers on them! I've been playing around with photos I've taken at various dances, and turned them into simple black and white (line) drawings. But I need more!
Has anyone got nice, clear photos (strong poses are best - dips, drops, lunges, certain aerials etc) of dancers they'd let me use as the starting point for drawings? I'm planning on taking LOTS of photos of dancers from now on, so be warned.... You might end up as a piece of ceramic art! A few forumites have already ended up in my portfolio....
Right, better get back to my sketch pad....
PS - ideas of popular dance tracks with dance related lyrics also appreciated!

I'm biased, but I think AT images tend to create the best shapes - e.g.

I guess you should also find out if there are any copyrights or other legal issues you need to worry about.
I've looked at those - there are drool marks all the way down my computer screen now....
I assume it would only be breach of copyright if I actually used the photos to put on my work, but am not entirely sure what the case is if I use the images as a starting point for line drawings? I've emailed Alec to ask him what he thinks - I wouldn't dream of using anyone's work without permission.
Oh, and thanks for the suggestion Gojive. Anyone else got lyrics they think would be good? I've found a few already (like 'Come dance with me', and 'Last chance to dance' etc), but more ideas are welcome.
This thread has got lots of good lyrics...
Let your mind go and your body will follow. – Steve Martin, LA Story
If you just take any dance video clip and pause it at a desired frame and use that image only as a rough pose guidline, with no recognisable personalities or particular costumes or locations there should be no copyright problems at all. It is a question of degree.

Do an advanced search for on flickr, but only search amongst creative commons licenced images which allow commercial use and derivative works (see the extra options near the end).

P.S. Might be better to chose more specific keywords, e.g. tango, rather than dance per se.
Most commercial isn't under the share-alike license so you are fine. It appears, in Flickr, that it puts it under Attribution 2.0 if you select Commercial with Derivatives so you are fine. Good idea Spin Dr .
