    Can you do this?

We just conducted the following balance/flexibility experiment in the office.

Take a sheet of A4 paper, now fold it in half across the width of the paper. Place the paper on the floor, with the fold in it it should be able to stand up.

Stand on the floor behind the paper, stand on your right leg with the left leg bend behind you. Grab your right leg with your left hand (behind not in front)
Now bend forward until your face is level with the piece of paper and pick it up with your teeth.

    Now who can do it?

Yup, you should be standing on one leg, with the other bend behind you being held by the opposite hand.

However you can try with the other leg. I can do it both on my right and left leg, but find it much easier on my left leg. Oh and I swear it was easier on Saturday, but maybe that was due to the amount of Sangria was drinking

Ah, you said stand on right leg, and hold right leg (ie leg you are standing on) with left hand.

Is is stand on right leg and hold left leg behind you with right hand?

    Still can't do it though!

(You can tell its quiet in the office today, can't you?!)

Ehm sorry for the pants explanation. You stand one one leg right in the instance of this example, bend the other leg (left) and grab it with your right hand behind you.
Now you slowly bend forward and pick up the piece of paper with your teeth.

Yes; both sides, but standing on left leg is easier.

    Yah.

Well, I put the piece of paper on my desk and I still couldn't do it.

    Re: Can you do this?

After several attempts (and having realised I had the paper the wrong way, I had it fold point up like a little tent!) I just about managed it on left leg. Can't do it on right (yet). Reaching the paper isn't the tough part, its getting back up again, tendancy just to keep going forwards!

Are you supposed to keep your standing leg straight? If so, then I can't do it after all, as I need to bend it.

You are allowed to bend your standing leg as much as you so desire.
