Yes we had a London forum and a Scottish forum
Think it dies soon after I joined cira July or August 2003
The ‘excuse’ I remember was it wasn’t being used much which was plain stupid
Most of us ‘joined’ the Scottish forum
I must admit I never thought the word ‘Scottish’ would last so long given 80% ? of the users are not Scottish but hey ho
Guess people off the London forum must be like the last tommies for WW1
Stewart The ForumKiller, we'll call you
It does seem somewhat shortsighted, considering the growth in online communities over the past few years.
Ceroc London have many admirable qualities, but they seem to be a bit behind the technology curve in some ways, especially when you look at organisations like Jive Nation.
Don’t think it matters much now the ‘Scottish forum’ has involved away from talk of sheeps and hills and lets face it 70% of the talk is about London or Southport now days
Suggest ceroclondonforum or cerocsouthportforum
If it keeps the scots happy they keep the name we keep their oil
I'm pretty sure I was the top poster on the London Forum (I managed to overtake the Tramp while he was otherwise engaged on an extended trip to the Antipodes ), but I'd joined the CS forum long before the London Forum came about, so I guess I was not really a 'refugee'.
As Barry says, it closed shortly after Mike Ellard took over Ceroc Enterprises. I don't recall the reason they gave, although it would surprise me if it was for lack of use as, IIRC, the number of members and volume of posts was growing quite healthily by that point.
I think the London Forum suffered because it tried to moderate quite heavily the discussion of non-Ceroc events and classes, even to the point of banning the word 'Hipsters'. Many members simply decamped here and never went back.
