Well, this is your answer. Of course Ceroc™ aren't biased towards "Ceroc dancers" (whatever that is these days). Danni & Becki both started out in the same LeRoc class (as did Jennie Harrison, Elaine B and Matt K, as it happens), and it hasn't done any of them any harm. Seems to me that the judging is as impartial as it can be.
The real issue is about the judges isn`t it?? but to be honest whoever you get to judge are going to have an affiliation to one company or another, these things will always be controversial to some degree, i certainly don`t think there is any bias toward in house cerocers, if you looked at the ceroc champs a while back only very winners caused any controversy, the only iffy result was the team that won Double trouble, that was definately a rigged, Cash in an brown envelope scenario for sure

That was confusing for some, on that point i do think it should be just the beginners moves and just them, allowing multiple spins usually means 90% of entrants are excluded from doing them simply because of the difficuly of doing them, it is a fun category and should be kept out of the way of controversy at all costs IMHO....More contentious in my mind was the issue about multiple spinning in Ceroc X and the confusion that the official guidance gave.

As I mainly dance at Ceroc venues, I'm hoping it will increase my chances of doing well at the Scottish Ceroc Champs in a few weeks time!
Seriously though, I honestly don't think it makes any real difference.

For no reason other than Interest, has DavidB ever judged for Ceroc? I know he has done others.
er..what does "subconscious awareness" mean ? is that like a spider-sense a la Peter Parker?
Yes I agree, and I have judged for several years. There is no bias, no instructions beyond looking for good technique, style, musicality and presentation. Most of the judges are Ceroc teachers because Ceroc value their training and teachers higher than most 'independents'. When outside judges are brought in, they are experts in their field (like David & and Lily or Carmen Vincelj).
As for the reason why there is that perception, my guess is that many 'non Ceroc' independents are not as good as they thought they were and don't place, but rather than trying to improve, they shout "fix!" and say that Ceroc are biased against them...
As for Andy McGregor, I'm sure he's done pretty well at the Ceroc Champs when he used to compete, despite not being a 'Ceroc person'. His agenda however is to tar Ceroc with a poor reputation whenever possible with small digs that he hopes will add up to a general poor image for Ceroc...

There's an A.P.P. for that!
