You're allowed to refuse a dance to change your top, but ask them where they're sitting and get them up afterwards. I wouldn't be offended if I asked someone to dance and they said no cause they were off to change.
My appologies for yet another question, I seem to be the only beginner on here who is bothering everyone.
But anyways, half way through yesterdays class it was time for me to change my top for obvious reasons. (btw what happened to aircon ?)
I tried to head to the restroom to change my top a few times, but never seemed to quite make it, as I got asked for a dances (not complaining about that). I was quite envious of the guys who just went over to their bags, towelled off and pulled on a fresh shirt.
What do you girls do? Battle your way across a crowded venue to the restrooms? Or do you turn your back to the floor and quickly whip of your top and put a fresh one of?

when i tell my class to get each other up to dance and not to refuse a dance i do tell them there is exceptions like needing the loo! I would take changing as an exception too especially when you are asking a man who needs to change. I would rather be told "sorry i am just off to change but i will catch you when i am nice and fresh" than dance with someone really sweaty.
If you tell someone you will catch them after you change, do try and make the effort to go back and get them!
Bothering us I can't imagine anyone having this thought
Personally, I change in the loo's.What do you girls do? Battle your way across a crowded venue to the restrooms? Or do you turn your back to the floor and quickly whip of your top and put a fresh one of?
I don't know of any girls who change in the venue but maybe they're so quick and descrete that nobody notices?

Hi Connie,
Your not bothering anyone, your propbably asking the questions others may be wanting to ask too.
I personally change in the loos and normally take my dance bag with me and freshen up. You wont beleive what are in some peoples dance bags (see 'Whats in your dance bag' thread)
Dont worry about saying no to somebody, you prob wouldnt have a good a dance anyway if your worried about changing your top x
This must be a question for our Fletch Her costume changes are famous and wonderful

I'm a bloke and I tend to change in the restroom mainly so I can use the sink to wash up as well. I often have difficulty getting to my bag but once I'm there I pick it up and stride towards the doors. I have to say the bag seems to be a good way of stopping people asking me for a dance. A few times I've come back and been asked for a dance (and just thrown my bag to the side) but probably only a couple on the way out. If I was I'm sure I'd highlight the bag and say "I'm off to go change be back in a few minutes".
I'd say the rest room.
I've been "turned down" for dances by plenty of blokes who have said "I'm just away to change , can I do the next dance with you instead".
("turned down" is in inverted commas in that comment as personally I don't regard that as actually being "turned down". I regard that as a deferred acceptance.)
we need a telephone box that we can wizz around in and come out a super woman
Don't think any one would notice Lorry I will if you will
Thank you Minnie M
There are differnt places at different venues, the loos are allways a good one

Walk quicker or sit closer to the changing area.
But I know what you mean. The other week it took me six dances just to get a drink from the bar a mear 20 yards away. One while I was at the bar queuing and five for me to get back to my seat with drink in hand.

"restrooms"
er...anyway, if you are leaving the floor for a reason, offer "i'll be right back" as an answer to a dance request. They can ask you again when you come back. Simple.
