    Clever non-humans

I read this article about smart birds, and was impressed. I then thought it would be interesting if Big Brother contestants were put up against the crows - who would win? I really am not sure

I was travelling along a wooded path when I came across two women chatting, one leaning on her bicycle. There was a small dog yapping around their feet. When I got closer I saw there was a crow wandering in and out of the bicyle wheels obviously deliderately taunting the dog, which was quite unable to catch it. If games playing is a sign of intelligence, crows have it.

    Define "clever" ?

Able to solve quadratic equations? not really applicable to birds etc.

personally Spiders have the skill to weave complex and structually sound webs many times their size.. get a ball of string and try making a web sometime.. not as easy at it looks*.. damn clever those spiders

*I know.. Halloweeen 4 years ago.. Giant spider web in front lawn.

Various other examples of "Clever" animals.. so on who's scale are we to judge them.. on theirs we "intellectually superior humans" might be one level below cretins or one level above a root vegetable !!

I liked the article though.. So much for being "Bird Brained"

Well, say we had Jade Goodie at one table and a crow at the other and we had some basic counting and problem solving skills. Who would win ?(make it timed as well ) Make it so you lose points for talking, and the crows victory is assured

You do not appear to have explored the mathematics of flight. and most people would have problems with quadratic equations.

I think that's being a little cruel on BB contestants - I wouldn't expect them to be anywhere near that level of intelligence
