    Wedding dance songs

Sorry if this question is in the wrong section.

I was wondering what are the most popular songs that normal people (Ie including muggles) have their wedding dance to?

    Re: Wedding dance songs

Well.... Jon White lists a Top 10 of Wedding Songs on his uk-disco site.

There's a link to a discussion on what recent B2B's are having on Hitched here, and a similar one on Confetti here.

There's also a bit of a trend starting for something a bit different - as evidenced by the numerous Thriller and Dirty Dancing routines on YouTube.

As far as I'm concerned, a wedding violates all protocols unless Abba, 'Staying Alive' and 'Night Fever' are played.

I was going to say that bloomi' Snow Patrol Yawn Fest "Chasing Cars" would be popular & lo & behold it's almost the first track mentioned on the link Lou gave to Confetti - people are just soooooooo predictable. (Mind you a friend of mine did have it at his wedding BUT the twist was he hired a band & sang it himself)

    Re: Wedding dance songs

Hello - my first post and it doesn’t even answer the question! Actually, I’ve spent the afternoon trying to help my friend find a suitable song for her first dance! She's getting married soon and I’ve recruited her to Ceroc with her fiancé because they don’t want to shuffle for 3 minutes! Just need to find something up tempo enough for them to do a bit of MJ, but not too fast because she will be in a big frock! ...and I guess it has to be a bit lovey dovey!

Did anyone notice on the Hitched forum discussion that 'Kazza30' said: "We had Jack Johnson Better Together. I met hubby at ceroc dancing classes so we did a bit of a jive to that!" - Ceroc does it again!

Someone I work with is getting married shortly and is considering, 'I still haven't found what I'm looking for' and 'I predict a riot'! She and her hubbie to be have a very good sense of humour........

Tom Lehrer's enchanting love ballad: I Hold Your Hand in Mine would set the tone of a good wedding like nothing else could.

    Re: Wedding dance songs

First time I got married the first dance was to Pink and Get the party started, instead of something that a slow shuffle/waltz could be done to. As only three people in the room knew that ceroc lessons had been taken it took a lot of folk by surprise, in a good way

If I get round to a second time I'll let you know now just that small matter of finding someone first....

I think 'You're my first, my last, my everything' by Peter Grant would work well (assuming it wasn't a 2nd, 3rd, 4th.....wedding )

My wedding song was 'Always and Forever' by Heatwave.

Divorced in less that three years. Not quite the always and forever I was expecting.
