I admit, I'm completely clueless when it comes to Ebay, although, I did win my first bid just the other day and got the item (a 5in1 photographic reflector) a whole £1 cheaper that the 'buy it now' price!
So, shall we place bets on how much the floor goes for? (will we be able to find out )
I'll say £429

On the subject of ebay, I've been buying and selling for many years. The trick is the snipe. There are sites you can use that will do your sniping automatically. They will place your maximum bid 5 seconds (or however many you choose) before the end of the auction - this means that nobody has time to react to your bid.
On the specific subject of this dance floor, if there are forumites who are going to bid I suggest they make themselves known and form a consortium. It would be a shame if two friends pushed the price up. So, is anybody going to bid on this floor?
p.s. I'm tempted but will not be bidding. I've got nowhere to keep the floor and already have a much more portable dance floor in nice shiny aluminium. Plus, as a commercial operator, I feel OK using a purpose built dance floor that has been mass produced. I feel less secure about the safety of a dance floor that somebody has designed as a one-off.
