Yet to find out about Berkhamsted. The venue they switched to last week was superb and I'm hoping that Jilly can use it again for freestyles. Two rooms back to back, one with a stage, the other hosting a decent size bouncy castle. It looks like an expensive venue to hire but it would be so worth it.
I'm at Chesham early tonight and will find out if the town hall is back in use. After that we are off to Ashtons to a hopeful late finish.
Looking forward to Pulse tomorrow. The last few have all been top notch and can't wait to whip out my new light. We might even see a reappearance of the "Discotoilet" with it's own sound system playing George Michaels "Outside" on repeat. I'm off to Maplins to get a mirror ball right now. Apparently they sell smoke machines too
Possibly already been asked but can we pay on the door at Kirrie! I know We could last time!
Edinburgh's a little far to go what with all the travel I'm doing in the next few weeks and so meand caro are sticking a little closer to home!

On Sunday I'm thinking of trying a 2 hour salsa class, near Selfridges, then may go on to the boat afterwards. ("The boat" - I hate that, she's a ship with a fine record as a warship in WW1 )
A sore shoulder and not having any details of times, workshop levels etc, means I'm not going to the WCS workshops (but its only 2 weeks til SP), but hope to go along tonight for the performances - Kyle Redd and Sarah van Drake, Ronnie Debenetta and Brandi Tobias, and Paul and Cat. Will be good to see some WCS in Ireland!
I'm avoiding any sheep or herd tendencies this evening and heading along to Woking for a fun evening of terrorising the local men! - it has to be done occasionally.
I'll also be at the Sunday Smoove tomorrow evening, so anyone thats going try and grab me for a dance.

Why are there two HMS Presidents? Which is older?
There is another one moored east of London Bridge on the north bank - think it belongs to Customs?
Wonder if any dancers go there by mistake?
Hope to see you on the warship RK.
I really, really enjoyed Ashtons last night. It was cool.
Managed to pace myself till the 2am finish.
Well - had a lot of fun at the Jook Joint, and it was great to put a few more faces to names - and have some lovely dances...
Still a bit tired today though. I'm turning into a bit of a lightweight.
Jook Joint was really good fun, the people were friendly, the music was superb, in paticular I loved the swing music, the place was full of atmosphere and I know I am speaking on behalf of my friends as well but we had a great night and err .....early morning having left at nearly 3.30am. I thought the chocolate brownies helped to keep me going, nice touch to have snacks. I really enjoyed my dances and thank you to all the lovely men who danced with me. Also great to meet Straycat and to see Don again.

A quick comment on HMS President this afternoon. As per usual, had a lovely, chilled afternoon. Some really good dances, though I was struggling a little more than usual with the curved floor and slippines of the deck - kept having visions of my going for an impromtu swim Lots of cake this time too
One observation towards the end though. At about 5 or 5.30, there was an invasion by non-dancers. I was dancing, and my partner commented on the fact that there seemed to be alot of non-dancers around this afternoon. I just thought that he meant the Ceroc dancers who were sitting out, but when we turned round, there were about half a dozen people standing by the rails, watching and taking photos. They clearly weren't dancers as they were standing there with jackets and rucksacks on, and I hadn't seen them earlier. I didn't pay too much attention to this initially, however by the end of the afternoon there must have been 30 or more of these folks on the boat.
This did make me feel quite uncomfortable. The dance partner who'd made the initial comment was quite concerned about the safety of his belongings, and I felt a bit concerned too. I didn't like the thought of strangers just wandering into what is supposed to be a relatively private ("members") do. We were also being watched quite closely. Which also wasn't a very comfortable experience.
One of them overheard my commenting on this "invasion" to Trouble, and told us that there was a do for Romanians on the boat in the evening. Clearly they'd just turned up a bit early. But this does mean that anyone can wander in, and I do wonder about the implications for Ceroc in terms of security for it's members as well as how this would affect it's liability insurance. I wonder if it would be possible to ask the owners of HMS President to request that later bookings turn up and board the boat when they have it booked, and not up to an hour early?
A belated view on Ashtons.
It was.... mmmm.... For some reason, I didn't really get into it.
I've no idea why this is - the music was great, the dancers were great, the floor was slippy but OK, it went on late, and even the bar staff smiled
So I think it must have been just me being in a weird mood for some reason.
But to Ian, Eric and Marc for the music - the best sets I've heard at an Ashtons freestyle for as long as I can remember. I had some great dances too, including a fantastic tanda at the end which ended the night on a high.
I love it
