Like several others, I'd probably still be single, but have a much smaller carbon footprint (actualy, I probably still would be snigle if it wasn't for the forum...). So I'd probably have gone on more internet dates and become clinically depressed as a consequence

Some of my friends would see more of me (and the ones who do see me wouldn't have to listen to my talking about dancing incessantly ), I'd have fewer shoes and sparkly tops, I'd have more money. I'd have drunk more wine. I'd be a little less fit (but not much), not as confident, my posture would be worse, I wouldn't have met lots of lovely people, and I'd not know what I have to do to get a super-charge of endorphins rushing around my body to make me feel good.

Re: What if you hadn't found dance?

I would be using my OAP bus pass more going to bingo

Seriously, dancing has changed my life and it has allowed me to meet the nicest of people from all over the world

My last big birthday showed me what a smashing bunch of people you dancers are and that I have some wonderful friends.

I can't even think what I would be doing without music and dance other than going to work each day and staying in each evening watching the TV

I'd have not met my best friends or my boyfriend. I'd not keep as fit as i am. I'd be very bored.

    However...

i would probably have a lot more money and a lot less dance clothes and shoes!

Hey, it could be worse - you could be in a job that requires writing skill or something. Now that'd be scary.

Re: What if you hadn't found dance?

I'd like to expand on my previous post. I have for what seemed an age tried to find a replacement for my 1 passion - that of kayaking...

(Wobbly Dave - Perpetual cartwheel - Trewyern - nr Bala)
My shoulder got too bad to continue. I know with work and physio I could have got back into it. I got generally quite depressed - drank lots of beer and felt quite sorry. Catch 22 I soon got too fat for my boat/clothing and needed the exercise to get back into it!
I was also stuck in a rut job wise. For a time the car thing did it for me - but it has faded some. I still enjoy racing and car rallies. By Feb this year I had reached an all time high over 18stone - which shows quite badly in this pic...

I have pulled myself up by the proverbials and made significant changes, in career and outlook.
Dancing has ignited a passion that I had not felt for a while.
I've lost 2 stone feel tonnes better, boosted my self confidence - which is a pleasant side effect.

If I had not found dancing I would still be feeling very self conscious and unsure of where to go to get my enthusiasm back. I still dont think I would have found a replacement yet for the boating thing.

Re: What if you hadn't found dance?

If I hadn't found dance I'd be 2 stone lighter . I stopped playing basketball and only swim once a week now.

Also, I never listened to cheesy or swing music before.

But for dancing, I'd only be two of the following: depressed, fat and lonely.

Re: What if you hadn't found dance?

.. would have continued being an overweight, self-concious person no-one notices

Thanks to dancing, I'm not a quiet stand-at-the-back-of the room person anymore. Got more self-confidence and 2 stone lighter!

Got a bit of a social life again, something I thought I would not get back.

I had lost 1 stone when I plucked up the courage to go to my local venue in Wolverhampton, I had dark brown hair and a size 18 which was good I had droped from a 22 I lost an extra 4 with ceroc 5 in total

I hadn't been out for years, the 3 years before I wen't to ceroc, it was just me and the children having split from my ex

My life couldn't be any more different now
