Insanity and Brilliance is there a connection???

Insanity and Brilliance is there a connection, let me explain.

Can you have true brilliance without insanity?

I think not, for example George Best, Gazza, Cantana, Maraddona, Spike Milligan all brilliant in their field all have had moments of insanity.

Does this dark side , this insanity actually fuel the brilliance in these examples?

I think, and this is just my humble opinion, that brilliance and insanity are inertwined within a person and either one can be dominant at any given time.

Are we all Dr jekyll and Mr or Mrs Hyde?

Can you, the viewing public, think of and elucidate about more examples?

Hope you two have a brilliance time and I am sure people will share in the wish that genious gets a well earned rest. I am exhausted just trying to work out what DTS is going on about above.
