Westlands is a great venue - especially if they turn the air con on. I don't know who is DJing on Friday - sometimes the variety is excellent and others it can be a bit too Mo'Jive for my sensitive tastes.

Always a good crowd of nice people from all over the south.

Won't be going myself this week as there's a Lindy dance in Bristol (as rare as hen's teeth)

Not been to a Mo jive event? What kind of music do they play?

Ah sorry confusing you with someone else from down south

Mo'jive has a reputation (deserved or otherwise) for playing rather pop orientated music at a nice regular tempo. One event I attended also had a few tracks with an added "stars on 45" rhythm (e.g. Undantag - with a disco beat)

Currently deciding to either go to Yeovil or to Southampton. From websites and reviews of Mo jive on the forum, Southampton is winning.

Not much of a choice really since Red Hot Rhythm is a franchise of Mojive
Or, at least, licensed from them, all teachers taught by Mojive etc. Dunno if they play different music tho... it is true Mojive music is mainly of the thump thump variety.

Will say that this Friday 27th is the Jukebox freestyle. I.E. all requests taken at door or by email. It's usually slightly better music than normal, but to counter that, I know some of the regular dancers are heading down to Bournemouth on the Saturday. No idea what the Friday one will be like. Also, the 'Jukebox' night used to be held at Minstead where lots of Ginger Jive, Ceroc Fleet/Salisbury, Jive-o-lution and general 'out of towners' etc. used to come. This is the first time it's been held at the brand new venue, further away from those guys. How good it will be, who knows? It's a mystery

Cheers. Was one of your reviews I read.

Having just moved to bath a few months ago, I've not really had a chance to explore different venues to much.

Very lucky in that Ceroc Live and John Bakers franchise have some brilliant teachers and dancers (loads of champs past and present).

Really looking forward to getting to a MoJive venue as have heard alot of good things about them.

Who is going where? Could have done with a South West pool as most of the weekend polls are around london.

Dum de dum... Just in case... Friday's Jukebox freestyle is from 7 to 11.
All the Friday freestyles in July are 7-11, then from Aug onwards, it moves to the normal 8-12.

That's what I understand anyway, best ring if in doubt.
