According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, a class of 1,068 children "smashed the record for the largest dance class in one place".
It seems to me that 1,068 isn't that many.
How many people attend a popular class at one of the big weekenders (Camber/ Southport etc.)? It may not be 1,000, but I bet they come close without even trying to set a record.
Love dance, will travel

"If you're going to do something tonight, that you know you'll be sorry for in the morning, plan a lie in." Lorraine
Jordan and Tatianas first class at southport couldn't have been far off that.
It sounds it may have been smashed and like you guys have said at a big weekender like Southport is could easily be done!
Along with a few other dancers, I was part of an attempt at this record back in July 2002, which had someone there ratifying it. There were 380 couples at a salsa class in George Square, so the record back then was 760 people.
