yes!!!! I love leading whether is be a woman or a man!

The only time it gets annoying is when the man tries to go back to leading and you are fighting to keep them in control!

I will happily lead anyone who asks me and i will ask lots of people to dance to.

I lead lots of women and i would say i lead 50% of the time on a regular night if not more than that!

I enjoy leading and following equally. If i am at a venue where i dont really know the men who are there and a really good song comes on i will automatically ask a lady to dance as i want to get as much out of the dance as possible.

I wouldnt say i am a fab leader but most people can follow me and i have fun doing it.

I remember at greenwich a bloke watched me lead a few of the other women in the room then ask me to dance as a follow. At the end of the dance he then asked me would i like another one only could i lead. I was more than happy to! He was a lovely follow but in a man following way.

Male follows can fall into two categories 1) men who follow like men and 2) men that follow like they are followers.

I am happy to dance with either. (including double trouble with one or two men)

Sorry, but i don't quite understand what following like a man rather than a follower is?

The follower tries (and hopefully, succeeds!) to follow the leader irrespectively of whether the string of moves is familiar or not. Obviously, sometimes it is so unfamiliar that you just have to laugh...
The man follower tries to anticipate the move and execute it according to how he does it as a leader.
That's how I understand the distinction - am I right?

About sums it up.. it also has a bit to do with style, some men look like men when following, some look like followers and it looks natural.

Is that not common with most inexperienced followers though? More so with followers who learned leading as well and, though uncommon, I do know a few women who learnt how to lead first. Does this mean they follow as a man?

Another way of expressing the same distinction is to ask whether a follower relies more on her pattern recognition skills, or on her following technique. All followers need both sets of skills, but male follows tend to rely more on pattern recognition.

Absolutely - but I thought we were talking about experienced male dancers who decide to learn the follower part?

But why does being an experienced lead make you an experienced follower? I probably do quite a bit of following for a guy but even on a busy "following" night I'll probably follow for three dances which isn't anything compared to how much a dedicated follower will do.

It doesn't. Being inexperienced means you aren't that good at either. Being experienced in leading might mean that you are backleading, as per my previous post.
