I doubt it babe. I have seen and heard very little promotion for this event (OK I have literally seen one leaflet and had a couple of "is it on or not" conversations with dancers). As always when it comes to promotion Mike seems so coy you could almost confuse it for acute embarassment... reap = sow

re the advance and open there is no where to move up to ??

you could argue advance goes to open but i dont think so

If you win the beginners, then next year you're not a beginner anyway, so it's not relevant.
If you win the open, then, well, it's open.
If you win the showcase, why shouldn't you be allowed to compete the next year?

So, the only realistic grey area is "intermediates". But that's OK, because no-one really cares that much who wins the intermediates, so if you want prestige / glamour / girls, you need to go up a level anyway.

    So, where's the debate?

So take it up with the Champs organisers. Or are you seriously suggesting that the Ceroc Midlands champs have different sets of rules to the Ceroc Champs? Coz that'd be really nuts, IMO.

What, even the Showcase and Open?

I think you meant "likely"? But even so, I disagree - do you have any evidence?

Again, do you have any evidence? Or is this just random rumour-ing?

God dont expect me to answer all that!

But briefly I was referring to the Level heats not the showcases. (thought that was common sense! Doh!! )

Also If you are at advanced level then you should all be pretty much all at the same level one way or the other so I think thats more of a level playing field,( Common Sense again see?!!)

The open is Open so you enter at your own risk! If you cant cut it dont do it! (Bit like X Factor)Good point S38

There's tons of evidence about the psychological advantages of playing at home ( no need for even common sense there!!)CMon U Blues !!! ( thats a clue for you DJ )

And yes I have evidence that the Audience took the iniative and tried to influence the performance of their favourite dancers!! Its called cheering them on (Cmon U Blues again -bangs head on desk ) in Common sense terms!

Mike told em to do it!! and boy did they do it! especially in the Open

    Ah, fair enough.

    I took this quote:

to mean that you thought the judges were influenced by the crowd's opinions, rather than just the performers - presumably you just meant that the performers had "home team" advantage?

I don't think that there is any real proof that this happened Mac - just personal opinions. In fairness it's a pretty heavy accusation to level at a very experienced panel of judges; especially if it is an unsubstantiated hunch.

Let's just allow these personal opinions of foul play to slip quietly into the past, where they belong You know that's what would be best for everyone

Just out of curiosity .. who are the Judges? Ceroc remain the once competition promoter who seem averse to advertising the judges ahead of the event .... or even after if you look at the Ceroc 2007 website

So, who are the judges then? I'm guessing that they've been finalised now...
