    There is:
The Leroc 2000 (UK Championships) held in the Wintergardens, Weston Super Mare on 21st July and

Dance Championships in Brighton on October 6th (I think)

Funny - I could have sworn it was warm weather at last years Midlands event as travelling up I had the roof down on my car for a bit - was it November last year ?

    Hi Fletch,
Is that Mikey R ? not heard about that one - wonder if it will affect numbers at Weston.

I dont think Brighton clashes with anything else - the organisers are pretty good at sorting that - I believe its the weekend before Ceroc 'Breeze' in Brean though.

It's definitely the 10th - the confusion is that this thread was originally discussing and then de-briefing the first Midlands Champs on 4 November 2006 - it has only recently been re-named to discuss this years event on 10th November.....make sense?

    Mike,

Ceroc champs website shows first second and third under winners. Do you mean this or first place only?

Yes, I'm afraid it's winners, as in first place only. It's about title defence.

Urrm ... don't the winners of the intermediates and advanced have to move up to the next category ... and so can't defend their title??

    Hi Gus,

Why would they have to do that?

I would suggest that to take an existing Champs title off them is much more fulfilling than taking a vacant 'crown' and, of course it is the duty of that Champ to ward off all pretenders....hence the offer I made.

I cannot insist that the 2006 Intermediate Champs have to move up to the Open category for 2007 - isn't that their choice? I would liken that to insisting a Middleweight Boxing Champion has to move up to heavyweight rather than defend....think of all the pies!

Now, if that Intermediate Champ chooses to raise their own goals the following year.......

I'd be grateful for feedback but to stop someone taking part just because they won the event the previous year just doesn't sound right or fair to me.
