    Eating plans..

Up until recently, I've always been a breakfast, light lunch and proper evening meal girl. Even when on a diet I stuck to this but since receiving advice from a personal trainer, I've completely changed how I eat and it seems to suit me better!

The advise was to eat 6 times a day, the biggest meal being lunch and no carbs after 4pm..

    Re: Eating plans..

I do shift work and do a different shift every 3 days

Without a regular work pattern its very difficult to organise meal patterns. I therefore eat when I'm hungry but I try not to eat lots before a period of sleep.

I do not always have proper cooked meals and probably eat 5 times a day with smaller meals/snacks.

    Re: Eating plans..

my weekday eating is maybe some breakfast - usually something very light like some juice, big lunch and tiny dinner if any - some avocado on bread or a handful of berries

weekends are about the same - although if I'm doing a lot of dancing/training I'm very concious of not eating junk and forcing myself to eat a little something for breakfast other wise I will start to feel a little low after a couple of hours of work - also tend to graze more (pretty much always fruit) when training than on a normal week day.

My basic premise is that I eat when i'm hungry - and if I'm not hungry I don't eat - when I'm training/doing a lot of dancing I will go against this and eat when I'm not really hungry as other wise food won't happen at all due to schedules and that can end very badly with me feeling wobbly realising that i've barely eaten in 2 and a bit days

    Re: Eating plans..

As is documented elsewhere, I have a curious if not slightly self-destructive relationship with food....

I try my best to eat well but often I don't, I eat when I'm not hungry sometimes and also sometimes don't eat when I am hungry...

I did follow a WW eating plan for a long time.... too much mental effort....

    Re: Eating plans..

I have frosties or coco pops in the morning

My lunch and tea usually consist of a light meal and a main meal depends really on how hungry I am by then. I don't need to eat much to keep myself going.

Don't really eat that healthly either when i think about it. I just eat what I think is nice at the time.

    When I am hungry... normally

If trying to lose weight, 5 or 6 times a day, biggest being lunch, biggest fat content being breakfast, then trailing off. Smallest later in the day. Always meals at less than 5% fat.

Just looked at the poll, the nearest fit is, I eat when I remember... I am bad when not looking at diet... sometimes I forget to eat, then at maybe 6pm I realise I have not eaten all day, so I look for food...

    Re: Eating plans..

where to start on this one

I like to think I follow the Slimming world plan 100% but like a lot of people that are at 'target' I eat more syns than is recommended and adjust it when I go to far. 'I weigh in every week' 1.5 lb over target this week which is fine

I haven known a diet that doesn't work, you have to be on it for it to work though, and some are harder to stick to than others, its about 'state of mind' and that's what I try and address with my members.

The plan's easy but life isn't

I'm with Icey on this one "forget to eat" - how do you forget to eat? I'd like to know 'cos then perhaps I wouldn't be the one looking at the holiday snaps asking who the fat woman is... only to discover, as my delightful daughter said yesterday... "that's you mamma, the big lady with the green top ....!" - She'll get out of time out at some point next week... maybe...

    Re: Eating plans..

I'm doing weight watchers points at the moment.

Eat whenever you like, whatever you like as long as you stick to your points.

You are advised to do the following

Eat 5 portions of fruit and veg per day
    Cut down alcohol
    Cut down on saturated fat
    Increase your activity levels
Drink 2 litres of water per day

I've lost 3 pounds this week. Only 25 to go

Apparently wine is extremely fattening. Is there nothing we can enjoy?

A woman (older than me) offered me her seat on the crowded tube on Friday.
I refused of course, as I'm not really pregnant.
I don't remember that ever happening to me before even when pregnant. It was a bit of a shock.

Thank God there are people agreeing with me I was wondering if people would be honest or if they would come out with the "Oh no, I eat really healthily blah blah blah ..."

    Re: Eating plans..

    I eat if I'm hungry. Somedays I eat, Somedays I don't.

I always make sure I don't overface myself and always stop eating when I am full.

I find it terribly tedious and a complete waste of time. I'd rather have a balanced meal in a drink form, it's easier to carry on doing whatever and drink/feed at the same time.

Oh Sweetie , please tell me you're joking? You'll make yourself ill like that and you're much to much of an asset to the forum to lose

I did the "eating every second day" thing when I was a poor student.. it took me many many years of ill health to recover.

Now that I've met Twirly I try to eat healthier .. I don't always have breakfast (but was told off for that earlier this week) so I strive to eat breakfast and something at lunch and something healthy at night.. more often than not I miss breakfast, have an earlier lunch and then eat my main meal around 7pm.
