Ok another dilema! I have a tyre that is completely flat and have taken it to the local petrol station to fill with air. Unfortunately the valve is completely buggered so no air will go into the tyre. So there I am getting the spare wheel from underneath the car (who invented that postion needs shooting), jack out etc when damn no locking nut key. I have hunted high and low but no key. What can I do? The wheel can only come off with one of these keys. Is there a place I can buy a key or is there only one key to fit my car? I am a member of the AA so could call them out but feel such a girl to do so.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Also have to take the cat to vet so if I dont get it done "Mr frothy" could be in serious danger.
Just been on the phone to the AA who said said can sort my wheel out tomorrow and I can buy another key from the dealer. I would have thought that there was only one key that would fit my car but obviously i was wrong.
Time to buy another car
edit time - tomorrow still good, as you are in evening now (bl**dy time differnce, morning for me)
Cars now are so complex, I changed my battery, radio did not work, I had to pay $20 just to get the code from the dealer to unlock it <insert fumming face>

Have you looked in the glove box? Is there a pouch under the driver's seat?
I have looked everywhere but i remember 2 months ago I had the car cleaned and reckon they might have hoovered it it. I aways keep it in an open compartment near the gear stick. Will do a proper search when it gets light but I dont think i will find it
AA man has just left. He managed to make me a tool to remove all my nuts. I am now locking nut free until i can get to the Ford garage and order a new key. He was such a nice man that he even replaced some brake bulbs and checked my car over aaaaaaaahhhh!!!!!!!!!
I think you've been pretty lucky - I've heard of the same thing happening ie someone can make a tool to do it but have heard of other cases where they've had to drill the locking nuts off!
I went to Le Mans a couple of years ago in a friends car and his rear tyres were almost completely bald (the tread pattern was down to 3 grooves on a slick like an F1 tyre) and he couldn't remove them as he'd driven off with his locking wheelnut still on and it had fallen off
Now stop posting on here and sort of Mr Frothy!

Mr Frothy is going to the vet this afternoon
I had a similar problem with my car. i couldnt get my tyre out of the holding bit, but i just called the AA and 20 mins later a lovely yellow van turned up. The guy in the van was lovely, and even admited to having problems with the nuts also. Anyway when he got the tyre loosened, he found that tool kit locked in under the tyre! How stupid is that!!!!! Nice man changed my tyre too!
Slightly off topic but I went on a date once and he got a flat tyre that required changing, but he didn't know how to. So I ended up changing it.
Never ask a man to do a womans job.
Can't be bothered to go and find documents but think RAC charge £20 to remove locking wheel nuts without a key.
So glad to read this thread has a happy ending.
And even happier to discover it's not about one of DTS's little habits.
