    Re: Locking nuts

Twenty years ago when I bought my first car, I eschewed the AA and joined the RAC..................because they wore a nicer uniform. I couldn't bear the thought of being rescued by a man wearing brown and yellow.

Glad it's all sorted out now

I just had an embarrassing moment with my car. Went into a Tesco express on the way out i opened my car from the passengers door which also opens the central locking, put my shopping in and got into the drivers door, put my key in the ignition and my car locked me in with the alarm going off i had to pass the keys to a man through the sunroof to re-open my drivers door, just glad the sun was out and i left the sunroof open otherwise things could of been very embarassing
In future i will always open my car from the drivers side

What can I do? The wheel can only come off with one of these keys. Is there a place I can buy a key or is there only one key to fit my car? I am a member of the AA so could call them out but feel such a girl to do so.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Also have to take the cat to vet so if I dont get it done "Mr frothy" could be in serious danger.

Got caught with one of those locking nuts at Camber last March, was the last to leave the site i think !

AA couldnt get it off , had to do a patch job on the trye and get it back to garage who 'found the key in the car'. id just bought the car !

    There total waste of time

No, that's right they hit you over the head at traffic lights and take the car with the tyres attached.

Not wishing to sound like a crim... but these are your boys for future reference. You can take lockers off with these quicker than a standard socket on regular wheelnuts as you don't even need to line them up!

    Re: Locking nuts

It's just me, I should imagine, but as I browse the list of topics in the Chit chat thread, my eyes get dragged to this topic by the erroneous impression that it is titled 'Licking nuts'.

Before realisation dawns and I explain to my subconscious: "LOCKING!! Not licking, you donkey. We've posted on that thread, for goodness' sake!"
