Not a bad suggestion - slug pellets are very poisonous to animals, and could kill your cat. Excessive drooling may very well be a sign of moggy having eaten some! In that case it really should see the vet again.
Alternatively - have you de-flea'd your cat lately? If so, if the cat has managed to lick/eat any of the flea repellent, this can cause excessive drooling as well.

Anyone else remember an episode of All Creatures Great and Small from the 1970s where a cat (or it might have been a dog) drooled incessently because it had a small bone stuck in its throat?
