Hi BigD
Have mentioned this to our dancers and they are definitely up for it - expect to see a few of us there...
Do pass along my best wishes to Fran when you next see her.
I posted some time ago that Frances Browning, part of the championship winning Double Trouble team 'Shades' had unfortunately suffered a stroke. When I last saw her she was in a bad way physically and mentally very down, as could be expected. There is a charity dance for the charity "Headway" that has helped her on this Friday at the Addison Centre in Kempston, Bedford.

Not sure really...
One is really looking forward to it, one is moaning about it, one has a seasonal hay-fever problem, one will only come if he can sneak in behind some friends, one thinks they might be too tired, one might be on duty and one is bound to get lost on the way...
Plus she'll probably lose them anyway, makes a habit of that don't you Sarah?
Was seriously disappointed that I couldn't get to this event in the end, but I've heard it was a big success.
Does anyone have a final figure on how much was raised?
The figure announced was over £3,200 pounds. That seemed incredible, but there were associated fund-raising activities such as raffles and a "blind auction" with some very serious prizes which I think brought in a lot of money from non-attendees also. The charity "Headway" seems very highly regarded and supported. The majority of attendees were first-timers to MJ, which I had not expected.
There were many growth experiences - a new holder of "my oldest partner" title, my first attempt at dancing with a lady in a wheelchair, and suppressing my inner self to dance to dance "Fire" with a first timer. "Candyman" with a novice was a new experience too.
There were a few real dancers local and drawn in from afar, and I had a super night.
Sadly they could not stay until the end, and night was extended with a blues session (not arranged until the night), and most had left. Lacking a partner I had to go home Lacking my key I had to come back.
