    Recommendations

Thought it might be nice to have a thread for people just to recommend things that they thought were particularly good and of interest to others.

So .... random purchase form Majestic wine stores. 2005 Chardonay from Griffin Vineyards ... think it was a bout £5 ... absolutley superb. Enjoy.

I recommend the Ceroc Scotlad Forum, if you have a bad day and feel a bit stupid - come onto the forum and make yourself feel smarter

Tesco's are doing buy one get one free on Fab Ice Lollies at the moment.

The kids love'em and they are not as fattening as chocolate.

I think I need to lie down for a while.
I just checked the time and you posted that about the same time I bought a box of fabs to go in your freezer .
Please stop using your mind control powers on me, it's not nice.

Here's one - go to the new Majestic Store in St. Albans - and get a free bottle of champagne with your purchase. (Think you need to be on the mailing list - which I am). Nice and easy - no fuss. Did it today - and it is nice champage.

Tesco's have started to do plastic and card recycling now at some of their places - not only does that save two journeys, but the recycling machine is fascinating to small children, keeps them amused for ages

    (Actually, I think it's pretty too )

Not your local, alas. Near us - Friern Barnet and Brookfield "Chav-ville" Farm.

Yes, I'm sitting in and bored tonight also...

    Cool idea for a thread!

Off the top of my head...

"The Right Stuff" - the best movie in the world ever - though you do need three hours free.

"The Spectator" - cracking magazine - full of brilliant, rebellious, original, truly witty and erudite journalism.

Haagen-Dazs strawberry cheesecake icecream - FAB-ulous, sweet, scrummy and yummy.

Duchy Originals organic strawberry and mint cordial, especially if you throw in a strawberry and a sprig of mint along with your ice - perfect summer drink.

Re-enacting historical battles - get together with 1000 of your closest mates, have a damn good scrap, way too much firewater, a giant barbecue, then stay up all night headbanging; get rained on, frozen, sunburnt, badly dehydrated, beaten up, battered, exhausted, filthy, dirty and smelly. Heaven.

(Back on trap with DJ wearing and his cocoa nuts a distant memory)

Jamie Oliver's fantastic roast chicken - what a great recipe! And to use celariac instead of or as well as roast potatoes
