It's called a weekender, certainly.
But, like the Jive Nation "weekender" next weekend, it's a bit different in format to weekenders like SP - there's a "mix and match" element, so you can just go along to one or more of the classes, or one or more of the freestyles, without registering for the whole weekend.
It's like the MJC weekenders in that sense, or last weekend's AT festival in London.
So whether you define these as "official weekenders", or "a lot of dancing stuff going on in one location" is up to you - it's the difference between "a la carte" and "set menu" I guess
I see a "Going to Scotland for David & Lily" option in the poll, but where the "Already in Scotland and going to see David & Lily" option?
Could also have had an "I'm going to the Scottish Utopia weekend the week after" option too.

I've voted for the David and Lily option, plus doing the Scottish Utopia weekend the following weekend. Thing is, I'd like to go to London to dance my Little Monkey socks off soon, too........ Only a week since SP, and I'm already missing dancing with my London mates!
Ideally I'd like to go and do a Wednesday wcs class, then something like Utopia on Friday, an MJ freestyle on Saturday, and either a Jango or wcs freestyle on Sunday. I'm not asking for much, am I???
I wonder if I pray very hard to the Gods of Dance, if this may happen??
Oh, and if there really were Gods of Dancing, we'd get back Monday Meltdown, too. I loved that!
The Saturday freestyle for me!
Currently, just the Friday freestyle for me...

I was going to go, (I get the 12th off and could have made a long weekend of it) but looks like I won't be able to now.
Utopia is known for a funky Boogie tonight and it's related stroll or whatever it is called.
I'm thinking purely blues may get to me for the whole weekender. I'm hoping for some patches of other funky stuff during the weekend to help liven me up.
Is there anything lined up for this DJ's? Some of the end of night tracks from Swish for example that got everyone going ... before they left ?
Steve
There will be all sorts Steve and although we do play a broad mix of stuff we do have to fight the funk as otherwise it's all SF and I would play! As for the 'handbag dancing' tracks you refer to that we played at the end of Swish, it depends on the vibe at the end of the night, so we'll see.... trouble is it's not everyone's cup of tea, although we do have some tracks lined up that we know people can't help getting down to. (I think there was enough hip Dj speak in that statement although I could have maybe added 'groove' in somewhere....damn...)
