Sounds fun. Should be a blog or website, though, as well as posts on this forum.
Yes I would
No I wouldn't
Would wait to see who else does it
Would watch them but prob not take part
Some have prob seen the American WCS'ers Move of the Week on youtube.
Was thinking of doing something along the same lines. Taking a small camera or mobile to freestyles and weekenders and getting variuos forumites to demo and explain their fave move, throwing them on youtube and listing them in a thread.
Anyone up for it?
I'll kick it off when I get mobile again.

Hi
Yes!
Great idea - which I think will be massively popular*. I would be interested to hear some commentary on it as well - different views on the moves in question - why they work/reactions to it - as well as some of the nuances of it. I for one would get much more out of it than text descriptions on the forum. Maybe the first 'move of the week' could be a double trouble doughnut drop.
PS - the other week, I saw someone doing Treble (or triple?) Trouble - is that a recognised dance form? It seemed to be working ok.
*I would even put links in from my blog which would make it even more popular
PS - Have you seen the stuff done by DanceYourselfDizzy? This is the best (only?) strcutured video resource on the web for MJ - with breakdowns not only into teaching mode (ie step by step) - but also the full move in flow - plus photos with descriptions and tips. They have 150+ moves there, categorised into Beginner, Improver, Intermediate, Advanced, Dips/Drops etc.......
It's at Dance Yourself Dizzy
I think I paid about £8 for the subscription..........
Seen Trampy do triple, quadruple, etc., trouble on more than one occasion – including a 4-person drop.
Had a look at this a while back when we had the controversy over which beat do we step back on, etc.
Wasn't especially impressed by the teacher's style, or the fact that what they taught and what they danced differed. But then this is very common.
I think that jiveoholics (and afterfive, to a much lesser extent) also have databases of moves on video.
On the idea of "move of the week"... I go to a class each week where I get to see 3 or 4 "moves of the week". As well as just seeing them, I get taught how to do them. I also get to practise them with various partners.
And the funny thing is I hardly remember any of them.
I also have DVDs full of moves fully demonstrated and taught. I hardly ever watch them.
I think it'd be interesting though to hear and see folks talking about their favourite moves. Mine is the travelling return (and variations on it ).

Given that woodface is basing his ideas on the Lindy/WCS version: moveoftheweek.com
Then I doubt that serious learning is the main objective.

It seems maybe there is analogy here with razors: first the single blade, then a twin blade. Next, the Mach3...........then the Quattro..........now Fusion with 5. (Does anyone do a Quintuple-Trouble or a Sex-tuple-Trouble?)

Should have put 'loosly' based on MOTW
There should be some humor, but it would be more of a learning thing.
THe idea would be to watch the clips and if there are any that you like, you listen to the forumite teching them and learn from there.
The other thing is, it's a great way to get introduced to forumites.
Think they called it awesome foursome. Wasn't great. we satid as a fixed group but it looked a right mess in the rotation as it only took one person to get it wrong.
Also can't see what benifit it would have to a persons dancing if done in rotation. Is not like you could go and grab 3 other people at a dance and get them to do it.
Anyway.......
Might be at Ceroc Bath tonight if any forumites are going along and want to take part.
