I can't remember moves to save my life. Prob is half my moves are made up with Blueeyes that I cant do with other people.

I always join in the beginners bit, even if it's just the end and will always give tips to compleate beginners about where they are going wrong with moves, if they are going wrong.

A little off thread perhaps, but I was wondering how you actually did that? I'm a little concerned that perhaps leaders have tried to convey that to me and I just haven't picked up on it before.

Hang on, run this one past me again ...

You can't remember moves ... but you'll tell beginners where they are going wrong with moves

If someone is hurting me, or obviously really struggling/getting stressed, or specifically asks me for help/feedback then I will comment as appropriate. Otherwise I say nothing - I'm not a teacher, nor am I a taxi any more. (If I do comment then I always try to make 3 remarks "good, bad, good" - e.g. you're doing really well keeping on time with the music, but you need to lose the death grip with the thumb so I can follow properly - apart from that, your lead is nice and clear".)

I alter the timing by a fraction of a beat.

Must try that one, does it work well?

I normally loosen up the arms and stop leading.
This often makes no difference as she just carries on and does the routine herself holding my hand.
Although I do not do this to "teach her a lesson" I do it to protect my shoulders from RSI. [I did not turn up to fight, just to dance]

Or switch to a left-handed lead
