Re: Southport BBQ - June 2007

If my memory serves me right, the time it worked best was when we all just bought what 'we' wanted to cook and eat ourselves (or organise your own small group) that way, there's no excess of food (which has happened in the past) and everyone gets to eat what they want and no one's left doing all the work.

Throwaway BBQ's, Paper plates, plastic glasses and cutlery and black plastic bags are a good idea!

We could have some added fun by doing a few silly games, such as musical chairs or teams games like, pass the orange without using your hands or the 'rude positions', balloon bursting game?

Hopefully Captain Fantastic and Rebecca will entertain us again with some of the fantastic circus skills?

For the virgins,, here's a link to a couple of photo's from a previous SP BBQ's, to give you a flavour of what to expect

Would anyone be interested in crumble and custard again this year?

    That can be arranged.
Last year I did peach/plum and apple/blackberry too.
    Are there any other requests/suggestions?

I'll try and bring wine from home again (if I manage to fit it in my luggage - flying down this time).

OK - but it might not be fresh cherries that go in it - I'm not standing stoning however many it takes when I could be dancing.

So, by requst, I'll be bringing cherry, blackberry/apple and rhubarb crumbles, with custard.

No not fresh. I prefer the tinned ones. You know, the propper 'cherry crumble filling' tinned stuff.

Full of preservatives and sugar, so I won't be eating it....
I'll make it for everyone else though.

No blackberries from me this time I'm afraid, the brambles were all cut down after last year's crop
