It's interesting that a Hindu expert said the same thing here
Ok, so the expert said it in a slightly different way, but you do have to feel sorry for the animal being forced to listen to the chanting!!
Here we go again.
"We will now seek a meeting with the secretary of state for the environment to check how agricultural law can cater to the needs of sacred animals in Hindu temples in Britain," said Ramesh Kallidai, secretary general of the Hindu Forum of Britain.
They just don't get it, do they? There is no, repeat no, reason whatsoever why agricultural law should 'cater' to the 'needs' of any religion whatsoever. The religions have to understand that they have to abide by the law of the land. They have the opportunity to change the law of the land, by voting, but that's where it ends. No special treatment, no special consideration, unless it can be provided without infringing the statutory and common law position.
