Cool The Best Band in the World [TRIBUTE]

When we're out and about at venues we often see tribute bands advertised on posters. I thought it may be fun to share a few. At CJ's amazing Mariachi night at Bromsgrove yesterday there was a poster for:

    Fred Zeppelin!

We have also seen posters for By Jovi - Ken Dodd singing Living on a Prayer, anyone?

Who have you seen advertised? Post 'em here and give us a giggle......

My fave was 'the rolling stoned' advertised in a student bar in Bolton!

Not sure that By Jovi exist anymore - but they were good. I'm going to see the Bon Jovi Experience this Friday (Beacon Court Tavern in Gillingham if anyone's interested) who are most of the original members of By Jovi with a new guitarist. Also go and see UK Guns & Roses (used to be called Bad Obssession) quite a lot - they're excellent - and Livewire (AC/DC tribute) are also very good.

Frankie... it was the funny pun tribute band names I was really looking for, rather than actual recommendations But thanks for the pointers anyway

The best name / tribute concept I've come across is Hayseed Dixie -- AC/DC covers, bluegrass style.

It's not a funny name, but Luther Wright and the Wrongs.. they released a Bluegrass cover version of Pink floyd's "The Wall"

    it defies description...

Needless to say I bought it..

Can't help it, I see this thread title and I just think of 10cc's 'The Worst Band in the World'!

Dropped in on the Hastings Beer Festival over the weekend and headlining was 'Fake That' with an oriental Jason Orange.

Last time I went they had Bam, a Wham tribute band with Andrew Ridgley in. Funniest thing, he didn't play himself.

Nope but the bloke playing george michael had bit of an incident. He got a chocolate bar stuck where the sun dont shine. First they thought it was a mars but then they realised it was just a careless whisper.

They probably don't exist, but there should be a band called Proxy Music.

The whole idea of Gabba appeals to me - a combined tribute to Abba & The Ramones.

Otherwise, I always fancied starting up a West Country Trent Reznor tribute band called Nine Inch Nailsea - all songs to be performed in a broad Bristolian accent, of course.

P.s. yes I had a lovely honeymoon, ta!
