I gave up in January. You are right they smell horrid - but it's usually Joe Public I smell on. At Ceroc no one pongs - well they do, but not of fags, must not be many ceroc smokers in London.
My main problem is the choccy in the fridge. I have put on a stone in weight, but I am not a scaffolder so can't work it off monkeying about on buildings.
I am still being dropped, can't believe that, thought that would be one problem solved at least as my right leg is still a bit dodgy.
My God dont talk to me about eating i am eating for Wales at the moment.
I am not that worried about putting on weight as i will diet when i feel the need to drop a bit.
Went to StAlbans the other night had a twice through and then into freestyle with a lovely little thing who stank of smoke .
Never will i dance with her again, i may be an arrogant bastard but as i am in the majority i can pick and choose whom to dance with and from now on it will be non smokers only.
Any whiff of a smelly smoker and off she goes.
If this does not make me Mr popular i dont know what will.

Well Dave you were never a particularly a heavy smoker, and since you always changed your tops that always helps. Only time I really noticed your breath, was if you tried to kiss me, or when you had had a few too many beers.
As for how to handle dancers who are heavy smokers, then my rule is I never ask smokers for a dance, but will never refuse a dance from a smoker if asked.

Count me in if I ever make it south... although, I'm a Highlander with an Aberdonian father... so there's a fair bit of the old morbid fear running around!
re the smoking - I know it's tough to give up 'cos my dad did and he was a grumpy buG3er for a while....but... I hate dancing with smokers - I'm asthmatic and the smell is horrible... I've never said no but I HATE dancing with smokers so WELL DONE DTS - have some rep!
Alcoholism saved me from smoking!
Well done Dave, I hope it is still going well.
I stopped smoking over 2 years ago and it's the best thing I EVER did. I did consiously sell it to myself as "stopping" rather than "giving up" as I knew that I would feel I was missing out on something if I gave it up - rather like being on a diet and not being allowed to eat chocolate makes you want to eat more.
I can smell a smoker now from 20 paces and I am horrified to think that I once smelt like they do. Mr Darcy and I are really looking forward to the ban in July
Fingers crossed that you stay stopped and catch you for a non-smoking-dance soon
