    Re: Warner Breaks !!!!! (help)

Me and Gav enjoyed Jump, Jive and Boogie when we went the year before last and have booked again for Hayling Island at the end of March. I really can't wait as this weekender ticks all the boxes for me. Lovely hotel, friendly people, lots of Lindy Hop and Rock & Roll, live bands every night, great food and the chance to dress up in retro clothing.

Can't wait! Is anyone else going?

    OOO am I jealous ....

Mike Sanchez was far and away the best live act I saw in 2008. The Swing Commanders, The Ding Dong Daddios & Honey B are all well worth seeing as well (Too poor for another holiday as I've just paid for a week at the Bude Jazz festival)

    • Half board with nice restaurants
    • All facilities located within the hotel itself, no need to go outside.
    • Pool and spa.
    • Nice, proper hotel rooms (we're going for the posh ones with a 4-poster bed and all the extras).
    • Lot's of Lindy and Rock 'n' Roll classes (plus 1 MJ class if they can squeeze it in).
    • Live bands every night.
    • Bowling alley, pool, snooker etc.
    • Coffee bar.
    • Landscaped grounds and walks.

In fact, in most respects, the opposite of an MJ weekender.
I'm not saying that either one is better, it depends what you want from a weekender.

Gav's already packed them. He's going to tie me to the bed at breakfast time to stop me visiting the "all you can eat" restaurant.

Love your taste in bands clevedonboy especially "The Swing Commanders" I have seen them twice over the past couple of months and their new line-up (the three long legged multi-talented pretty girlies) certainly have made a difference !!! Fantastic musicians, great sounds and a great variety of music and good to watch even if you may not be able to dance to some of their numbers.

If you hear of them gigging on the south coast please let me know !

They don't come south very often by the look of their web site.

We're off to see them in Chard on March 13 at a Country & Western club. Apart from that it seems as though they only come down for stuff like Hayling Island and the Twinwood festival. I'll let you know if I pick up anything else

BTW if you like their music check out the Willie Nelson / Asleep at the wheel album "Willie and The Wheel" (on itunes but not Spotify) there are some cracking Western Swing tunes - especially like "Hesitation Blues" & "I aint gonna give nobody none of my Jelly Roll"

Nope, but when you put it like that could you give me the details and I can book on the next one?

    Have a great time!

Spookily (well not really but it's a small coincidence) we're seeing their "nemesis" The Crown Top Kings in Bristol on the 26th April (TCTKs are the guys who left the Swing Commanders over musical differences a couple of years back)
