Have a Plan B - go visit my mum, she's only down the road.
I have been pursuaded to attend a warner break this weekend. Its called Jump, Jive and Boogie.
We are going to Sinah Warren which is in Hayling Island, Hampshire.
Now..... i am getting mixed reviews when i ask people or tell them, some snigger and wish me luck and others think its a fantastic place/weekend.
so my question is has anybody been on one of these breaks and if so, what can i expect.

Sis...I have been on one before and we will have a fantastic time, don't worry about it.
It depends on the theme of the weekend. If you go to see a Frank Sinatra tribute thingy then it will be full of wee stained pensioners, but we are going on a Jump, Jive and Boogie weekend, ***..!
I'm not planning on doing much socialising anyway. Its my first weekend away with Gav.
Hai Karate....that brings back memories of 70's aftershave ads (when I was a boy, OBVIOUSLY)
'Denim' - "for men that don't have to try too hard".
And then of course there was 'Old Spice'. I used to get that for my Grandad every year for Christmas. "Thanks boy" he'd say. Then after he died aged about 84, we found rows and rows of unused Old Spice bottles in his bathroom cabinet. Guess he was waiting until he was old enough to start using it.
Don't listen to them Trouble - it is a lot quieter than the MJ weekenders mainly because there are a lot more couples. They have a few good bands (if you like live music) but I don't rate their DJs. The accomodation is good though.
AND if you get bored - DJAndy is playing just down the road in Portsmouth that weekend and he is great and there is also Mo'Jive in that area

--ooOoo--
Age is a question of mind over matter, if you don't mind, it doesn't matter
Leroy (Satchel) Paige (1906-1982)
Mickey Mouse's girlfriend, Minnie, made her film debut, along with Mickey, in "Steamboat Willie" on November 18, 1928.
That date is recognized as her official birthday.
The event is organised by Boogaloo Promotions. who organise over 16 weekenders each year. which include Blues, Salsa, R&R, Jump Jive & Boogie
We frequently work for Boogaloo and have just returned from one of their R&R weekenders in Devon.
All of their events focus on live bands - I expect the evening format next weekend will be
8.00 till 8.30 DJ
8.30 till 10.00 live band
10.00 till 10.30 DJ
10.30 till midnight live band
midnight onwards DJ
So the DJ's only have a small pert to play at these events
The music can be up-tempo, but the bands are top class
Daytime classes there will be R&R Lindy & MJ, this is the usual format, but often there is only two or three classes a day.
The accomodation & food are excellent, the event is always well organised and if you step outside the regular MJ box and do not expect a mini southport You will find it is a great event
The organisers name is Monica and is ever present at all her events
hope this helps
peter
Thanks Peter and Minnie for your lovely helpful comments I feel so much better now
Well better these things go just one tit up rather then two I guess!
Have a great time on Ageing Island G & T & Double G & T
I was there about 9 years ago - apart from doding eleectric wheelchairs (really!), I had a great time! Going to something like this with a dance partner will be better than being slapped round the face with a wet kipper I reckon!
Have fun
