I got Pottertons in to look at the boiler. It wasn't the circuit board at fault, but the air pressure switch. Pottertons fixed it for me FREE OF CHARGE. I asked why they were not charging and the engineer said "Lets just say you have met one of the good guys for a change". I suspect it was more to do with the Watchdog programme breathing down their necks.
My boiler now works beautifully. Thank you Pottertons.
I have written backwards and forwards to the first company that came to see me saying that not only did they not open the boiler to investigate what was wrong, but that they left having not fixed it, or even serviced it and expected payment. They have offered half the money back, but I have told them I do not accept and that I am taking them to court. They are standing their ground.
I spoke to the CAB today & they advise me to take the money as it will cost me £30 to go to small claims.
My attitude is...that company know it will cost me £30 to take them to court and that I will probably back down, but I don't care about the money, I care that this company think its ok to rip people off and get away with it. I am going all the way with this.
I'll keep you posted.
