    Arrow Kirriemuir (March 2007)

So, who's going to be there?

I'm curious about the decision to have the tea dance on Saturday afternoon (as opposed to Sunday) a mere 3 hours before the main freestyle on Saturday night.

We (me & FH) are concerned that if we go to the tea dance, we have only 3 hours to get back "home" to eat and freshen up (and change) before we should be back for the freestyle.

Why was the tea dance moved from the Sunday to the Saturday???

I am! With Greg on the Friday night , and without him on the Saturday night.

Yes, it does seem a bit silly, but it's because the venue isn't available after 2pm on Sunday, as there's a ceilidh (Sunday teadance) in the afternoon.

Someone told me they were going to see if they could rent a hotel room by the hour...

Why was the tea dance moved from the Sunday to the Saturday???
Like I said - venue not available after 2pm Sunday....

So, who else will be there, then??

    I'll be there
The Focus weekends are just brilliant and I'm really looking forward to this one.
Our hands were tied with regards the Tea-dance, but it's a great opportunity for those who are staying over and attending the workshops as it means they will have time, with chilled music, to practice everything they've been learning.
And although the main Saturday party doesn't start until 9pm, it goes on until silly o'clock

That's a shame about Sunday afternoon...

I guess we can come along and dance 3pm to 6pm, then come back later... Maybe 3am to 6am?

    Hi Tiggerbabe
Is it possible to just join the Saturday tea-dance? Do I need to book in advance? Also - I'm assuming there will be space in a corner for the pram for my wee one

Absolutely, Monika. No need to book in advance, just turn up and pay on the day. It would be fab to see you, Adam (and Sam ). Last time Jo C had plenty of willing babysitters so don't worry

Don't know at present! Might come down after work on saturday for the Tea dance...But I have the same issue as D and FH what to do for the 3 hours?

It'll all depend how knackered I am from the Engineering ball the night before!

    Re: Kirriemuir (March 2007)

    See .....
Suddenly the notion of trying to book a hotel room for 3 hours seems quite sensible. Do you think it would look strange booking for the three of us...?

    Other options:
    • Tent (got a pop up 0.5 person "tent")
    • Snoozing in the car ..... (not comfy)
    • Pull a "resident" dancer at the tea dance (wey hey!!)

    Anybody else got a plan?

Well, you could always borrow the hotel dog and go for a walk around the local area (or jump in the car and go up to lovely Glen Clova and Glen Doll, just up the road), like Greg and I did at the last Kirriemuir weekend. Just mind you don't lose your camrea bag, and have to re-trace your own steps......... I missed half the tea dance because of that!

You can also go a couple of miles to Memus, to a place called the Drovers Inn, where you can have a scrummy meal in front of an open fire. Very nice! The Clova Hotel also does very nice food, either in the hotel restaurant, or in the climbers bar (which also has a nice fireplace).

See, not a problem to fill three hours, honest!

We were thinking of finding somewhere local to have dinner too. Thanks for the suggestions LM! I reckon by the time we've eaten/changed/chatted the time will have flown by!

You also missed a rather tipsy Franck.

Not a lot of people there last night..... But that means there's lots of cake left over for tonight! Unless that naughty Frenchman has eaten it all, that is....

Hope there's going to be more peole coming along than the few who have voted on the poll. Last night I behaved like a real hotshot, and mostly danced with Greg..... But then it actually made quite a nice change to get as many dances with him as I wanted, as I normally have to queue up to get a dance with him at most other venues!

HOpe you guys are having a great time in Kirriemuir... apparently most of the Inverness Class are there!.... except me.... - I was out too much week before last and hadn't earned back enough brownie points to get my husband to baby sit!
