    Re: Let's talk about hats

    In general, whilst I have nothing against hats per se on men or women, I would say it is in general best to avoid them on the dance floor for all the reasons mentioned such as;

    - they tend to fall off
    - they can get in the way
    - they can interfere with what your partner is trying to do or be an unwelcome distraction
    - they make your hair even more sweaty (assuming you still have some)
    - they may put some potential partners off so you get less dances

    However, as with many things in life, there will always be exceptions.

    Only worn a hat whilst dancing the once at the gangsters and molls theme christmas party, appartently suited it but did find it got a bit hot after a wee while. Didn't get in the way of dancing at all.

    Admittedly I don't know if I'd wear a hat to a normal dance night as I feel I might be looked upon as being a bit of a hot shot, besides I don't think hats would suit my normal attire at dancing, the pinstripe gangster suit was an exception

    Re: Let's talk about hats

    I wear a hat every now and then, only if it goes with the outfit... On Saturday night at Storm, I wore an "all black" outfit and the hat went well with it, so I stuck it on!

    I do like dancing in a hat, and leading in a hat is no problem at all, however following in a hat is a different matter, it tends to get in my leaders way when following, so perhaps it doesn't work as well as it used to do! Oh well.
