No label is enough to justice to MY EGO. "Supreme Being of the Universe" would be the absolute minimum I'd want.

Seriously, the reason is to improve poster credibility. I could go into a big Information-Architecture-related spiel about why credibility is important in an online forum, if you'd like?

Well, you could always, you know, start a dance-related thread. I'd even rep you for it

Presumably meaning 'Independent' of Ceroc, not of the organisation they hold a franchise for. Otherwise the name of the company would be part of their tag and might be considered advertising.

I'm pretty sure other dance companies do franchising too, Ceroc don't own that rights to THAT (yet)

No thanks, I'm not in the least bit interested in being bored rigid!

I already did, a while back and I've download lots of good albums and music tracks as a result of input from the forum DJs and dancers, I was dancing to the superb Alex Gaudino's Destination Calabria tonight thanks to clevedonboy, not at a Ceroc event, I must add.

That kind of sharing of information is what I thought a dance related forum was all about, not the trivia often found on this one.

No problem - if you're not interested, then I suggest that you take my word for it, as this is something I have experience and training in.

So, given that in an online community, credibility is important, the proposed refining of these labels is a method of enhancing credibility of posters by "fleshing out" their backgrounds a little.

    As for "dance discussions":

And a very nice thread it is too - but that was 3 months ago

Most forums have some banter and trivia - even MJDA has the occasional non-dance post - so I think that's just an inherent part of any community.

The vast majority of forums Ive been on deviate from the topic nearly every second post. Perhaps an exaggeration, but really this forum is sheer quality in comparison. It has clearly marked areas, that more or less stay on topic. The "trivia" areas keep the whole thing varied and people can pick and choose what they post/read without having to wade through loads of irrelevant nonsense. There are defined areas for that. What more can we ask for?

    Yeah?
Well, you didn't put an apostrophe in "I've" in your previous post.
    So there.

I love all the music i've come across at Ceroc events! The Ceroc Dj's really know their stuff! They're much better than any independent Dj I've come across!

So, who, in you opinion is to blame, for the forum not having the threads and info you require more of?

And what constructive idea's can you suggest to rectify this situation?

Excellent example - damn, why didn't I do it that way...

Another example, from a positive perspective:

    John Smith - Member...
I think the Ceroc music last night was great, but I'd have liked to have heard a bit more {XXX genre}, that seemed to suit the mood better.

Duh - obviously it's our fault for not being inspiring enough.
