Slinkys and HMS president as far as I am aware..
I am sure I will be corrected if not
and yes I will be competing ... and doing some Djing too
thinking about going - and if I can scare up a partner even competeing
I will be going (with TwK if I can twist his arm!). I am missing Blackpool this year due to my training commitments (for the London Marathon, I must be mad!), but won't be missing the ceroc champs as the big day will all be over by then! If I can still walk, I may even enter DWAS.
It is a shame that the Hammersmith Palais is to be demolished - even though it had its limitations as a venue for hosting an event like the champs, it is a shame that such an historic dance venue is to disappear. At Ashtead on Saturday I was talking to an older gentleman who was horrified when I told him the Palais was about to be knocked down and who was telling me how, before all the nasty nightclub carpet was put down, it would take a whole track to do a circuit of the former dancefloor (dancing ballroom, this must have been).
The Troxy looks fantastic, though, and with all that lovely tiered seating might be the perfect place to hold the champs.
I have a page on the Just Giving website, and have been meaning to post up a proper thread with full info on what I'm doing (presuming it is OK with Franck and his team to do so). It all needs updating, though, so I'll be doing that this weekend (hopefully with photos from the Watford Half Marathon which I have on order).
Meanwhile, back on topic... do you fancy entering Ceroc X with me?
So you think you will still feel like dancing (able to walk) when I am finished with you!
This does not sound so good on treading it again.
Only if you class "senior" as 45 or 46* and over.
(* The actual definition is confused...
First they say "This category is for couples over 45 years of age" (i.e. 46+), then "Both partners need to be 45 years of age or older" (i.e. 45+), then finally in the listed rules, "This event is for dancer's over 45 years of age only" (i.e. 46+.)
The grammatical mistake just adds to the general disappointment felt... )
Let your mind go and your body will follow. – Steve Martin, LA Story
Or .....does it means exactly what it says ....
once one has one's 45th birthday, one is more than 45 years old (eg 45 years 3 weeks and a couple of minutes)
Of course it is so very long before you're eligible .......
Yay... online tickets for the pre champs dance at Slinky's now available
Ceroc Greenwich Home Page
Don't forget two rooms, myself and Erick in the main room and Marc Forster in the Chill out room
gender balancing and strict numbers policy, be quick to avoid dissapointment
Mee too! It'll be my first weekend back in London from Australia! Maybe DWAS...oops I mean Lucky Dip will be the only partners I'll be able to muster ..... ah well - all good fun! But hey - if any guy out there - intermediate or above needs a comp buddy for the night and is prepared to 'wing it' for the night, I'm keen
Hmmm.... do they have Battle of the Sexes Yli?
