    Shoe Care

Anyone got any Dance shoe care tips?

In particular, anyone have any ideas on how to get the white elastic in a pair of shoes white again?

Not sure about that but I know that suede soles can be revived by scrubbing them with some water and washing up liquid (avoiding the shoe upper) and leaving to dry. Gets all the grime out.

It's also not a good plan to brush suede soles too regularly or you'll end up having no sole to brush

Can't help with the white elastic - I guess a very dilute solution of bleach would get it clean but it'd probably rot the elastic which would then let go at the most inconvenient moment imaginable.

My tip is for cleaning nubuck uppers. Clarks shoes do very good nubuck brushes for a few quid which get most of the marks out. To shift those bits where the nubuck seems to have been compressed and has gone shiny you can use a hard pencil eraser. Rub it over the mark from all directions then use the nubuck brush first against the nap and then with it.

Top tip! I use someone else's washing machine for my trainers.

You could try some glo white ,don't know if it will work on shoe elastic but does refresh white washing.
