True, but the sentiment and emotion they can convey is worth a couple of quid IMO (even if it's hate mail). I have kept a few cards going back years and occasionally when clearing out drawers or moving house come across them am reminded of fond memories.

True.. but I'd rather express myself with my own words and sentiment. Don't get me wrong, I do buy cards and send them but what I was trying to say to DT was it's not worth getting bothered over not getting one. in the end it's just a piece of cardboard.

I am a die hard romantic.. I do do the whole 365 day of the year romance thing and not just on Valentines day. I'd rather receive a hand written letter with words from my partners heart than some inane verse written by anonymous committee in some card company.

and apologies for going on about things.. I don't realise I'm doing it..

I agree; in fact all the cards I have are in that vein. Apart from one card (which I still have) when I was still at primary school I have never received a flowery-card-company-versed card.

I saw cards today that said

    Happy Valentines Day Son

and similar for Mother, Father and Daughter

Would you ever send a valentine card to a sibling or parent (unless you're Oedipus/Guy Secretan??)

I love Valentines Day personally. I am single mosto f the time through choice, so Valentines is a bit depressing on that count, but I think its a time for showing my friends I care for them and for doing silly things for some ladies. Just a nice bit of fun.

(though a hug and a cuddle wouldn't go amiss )

So is the facility to post anonymous Valentines going to be available this year, then?

Compared to Cilla's system, reading some actual words is more personal.

Plus you can then spend much more time agonising/dreaming who your anonymous admirer might be..

One day in February isn’t special. But you are.
