Unfortunately i've got to try and rest my feet by laying of the heels for a while (got a stress fracture from some clod standing on my foot at dance). Went out dancing in trousers and trainers for the first time in ages on friday, felt really strange.
    That dress is gorgeous!!
I almost bought myself a similar one for my birthday but it was just too shiny..I think I might have to go back for it!
Congrats on a great clothing choice that night!!!

Being a leg man dresses and skirts are always preferred

but dresses and skirts that move when you dance always catch my eye and I will hunt down the dress because I get a kick out of making then spin.

I always remark on them too.

A question though - Why wear a short skirt to a dance and then spend all night tryin to pull it down? Don't you ladies check things like how far up will this skirt ride and how high will it spin and of course just how far can I be dipped before there are shocked faces on the edge of the floor.

Any woman that wears a skirt should wear nice but not revealing under wear if it is a long skirt.
If it's a short skirt it's got to be boxers.
Unlike a girl I saw at breeze. Anyone that has seen the midlands champs pics knows what skirt I'm on about. Me being sensible always out leggings or boxers under it not a red gstring!

why stop at skirts doesn't matter if its trousers, skirt, shorts, etc, i'm allways trying to pull 'em down

Ive seen some shocking sights at Camber.

Some women obviously dont care that the rest of us can see what they had for breakfast when they spin or dip. Do they think the rest of us want to look at their hairy, G Stringed arses?

Put some clothes on Ducky...you'll catch your death.

Re: How long? (Girly clothing query!)

Two of my very favourite things are dressing up and shopping. Now that I have discovered Ceroc I can happily combine these two things. I am in the process of creating a dance wardrobe. What fun that is. I am able to buy styles of skirts and dresses that I would never have worn before as I didn't have anywhere to wear them.

If I dress up to dance I feel far more the part. I feel far more elegant in the spins and like someone else has said I can actually spin better in a skirt. I did used to worry about being overdressed but now I don't worry about it.

Mythical - that dress is GORGEOUS

I have two fantastic circle dresses from a 1950s pattern and I'm just dying to dance in them - not Strictly Ceroc, as it were...but it'd look awesome! lol

Anyone else have something they're dying to wear (anywhere) but just can't get up the courage? or am I alone in this crazy psychosis?

I have a 1950s Vintage Vogue pattern which I am in the process of making up and looking forward to wear. Again, full circle skirt.

One thing I would say about dancing in a full circle skirt for any dance style which involves spins/fast turns. A non-full-circle petticoat is ESSENTIAL - for reasons of modesty, as full circle skirts can go.. well, full circle and fly up.

Swishy enough, or am I just being a big show off??
It's beautiful - wear it!!!! I'm so jealous - I was starting to sew these sorts things before I left Aus - I miss my sewing machine - might just have to lash out on a dress from that site.

Re: How long? (Girly clothing query!)

I miss one day and nearly miss out on a fabby thread about girly threads!!

Love the skirts... I too am assessing clothes purely on dancability these days and the obsession has led to a bit of a thing about girly dance shoes too!

I reckon if you're a skirt person... go for it.. I'd love more swirly skirts but I'm a hopeless seamstress (my mother has told me so on many an occasion!) and there aren't that many in the shops! But yes, please put on some half decent underwear... not the grey stuff that's been through the wash a million times either! Although I hear Daz works wonders!

?? Maybe it's a kind of throw back to those really old Astaire/Rodgers films with the floaty frocks and the elegance of it all?!

Descision has been made. I'm not a skirt person, anyway, but on my Last night at Ceroc Coventry, before I have to go back home, and join Wigan, I WILL wear the dress AND the Crinoline AND red glittery shoes!!
On the one hand - I could wait forever for that day, 'cause Cov Ceroc is Brilliant, but on the other hand, I can't wait!!
