Very very bad idea. All you are doing is diluting the stomach acids that digest the food for you. It'll take longer to digest and you make the system work harder. It takes a good couple of hours for the average meal to make it's way through the stomach and on into the upper intestine for absorption of more nutrients.
If you must have strong coffee, a little espresso I guess, but not sure about the chemicals in that and the digestion thing. But at least it's not too much liquid.

True. Well my friend studied here Not being in the business myself, don't know about the organisations ION belongs to, but I understand that Patrick Holford is pretty well respected. It's a three year degree course she took.

Actually both are not regarded as being proper Nutritionists. I studied for 3 years for BSc in Nutrition from University and am now a qualified member of The Nutrition Society see here
