Oh man - that would be a real bummer!
Very very bad idea. All you are doing is diluting the stomach acids that digest the food for you. It'll take longer to digest and you make the system work harder. It takes a good couple of hours for the average meal to make it's way through the stomach and on into the upper intestine for absorption of more nutrients.

If you must have strong coffee, a little espresso I guess, but not sure about the chemicals in that and the digestion thing. But at least it's not too much liquid.

There are, of course, nutritionists and nutritionists.

Gillian McKeith, for instance, claims to be a nutritionist...

True. Well my friend studied here Not being in the business myself, don't know about the organisations ION belongs to, but I understand that Patrick Holford is pretty well respected. It's a three year degree course she took.

That statement is sightly overstated, Tea contains tannins which block the absorption of Iron, which is only really relevant for women as they tend to suffer from Iron Deficiency Anaemia more.

Actually both are not regarded as being proper Nutritionists. I studied for 3 years for BSc in Nutrition from University and am now a qualified member of The Nutrition Society see here

Fair enough - I stand corrected!
