Not that I'm easily influenced but I don't have many decent shirts so I went a bought a couple of white ones yesterday (and boy did it take a while to find ones that I was happy with!), so I'll have to wear one next time I go dancing and see what the verdict is
I don't mind the colour to be honest - as long as it's not too highly patterned. It's the whole shirt thing which can be really sexy. Buttons, hmmmm. Long sleeves, definitely - rolled up is fine, but short sleeves just don't do it for me.
Agreed. Long sleeved shirts. Billowing, preferably. And not rolled up.
3,5,6 and 8 - now I know why I'm sitting on the sofa
Who wants to be my personal shopper?
Apparently Debenhams do a free personal shopper service.
No idea if it's any good - I assume you'd be restricted to what's in that one store.
Love dance, will travel

Oddly, the two most popular also happen to be the two cheapest!
So guys, no excuse, you could get 3 so you won't need to change into the black tshirt when the first one gets sweaty.
OK, I was in Paris this weekend and following the white shirt poll/thread/discussion I decided to treat myself to a new white shirt for dancing (with swiss cuffs for my cufflinks) - and see if it was true what was being said. So I got myself a nice one. Tonight I polished my shoes and hit Stafford in my black suit, tie and my new crisp white shirt (with swiss cuffs for my cufflinks).
Oh boy! Ummm! Boy oh boy! Wow! I have never been asked to dance so much... the girls didn't care when I fluffed the odd move... they didn't seem to care that I only knew a few intermediate moves...... they made loads of eye contact.... loads of small talk.... what a brilliant night. Even more fun than Stafford usually is (and that takes some doing)!!!
I was expecting to last 20-30 minutes before I flaked - but I made sure that I stayed near the blower and managed to dance the whole night in my suit!
Now I'm not suggesting that clothes are the answer to every beginner's problem, but if you want to double your fun in an instant... take my advice.... splash out £100 on a really nice crisp white shirt! It'll do more for your dancing than a dozen instructional DVDs. Maybe it's just me, but it seems that ZZ Top were right..... girl's do seem to rather like a sharp dressed man.
Now where have I heard this before
Talk about flogging a dead horse
