    Masked Ball Panic

I'm going to the masked ball at Brechin on Saturday but still have to get a mask, as I can't see a Frankenstein's monster mask being right for the occasion

So any suggestions of where to get one in Dundee, St Andrews or Aberdeen????

    Thanks ,
    Paul

We saw some masks in the dance shoe shop in Aberdeen yesterday if that's any help. No idea of the cost though.

The dance shop in Aberdeen sells masks. a bit feathery, but with liberal use of glue and crepe paper etc I'm sure you could fashion something out of them

or the party shops on george street?

My reputation goes further down the gutter then hang on a minute what reputation

Mmmm so going in just a mask and dancing, I don't think this is the Scottish version of Eyes Wide Shut, unless there's something Lorna hasn't told us

    Hey babes,

theres is a place called party wizard on the Perth Road, in Dundee they have plenty masks.....

( also lots of shops may still stock basic halloween masks in a reduce basket or something that could be easily adapted providing it's not a frankenstein or scream mask.......or something along those lines.)

if you get stuck pm me as I could make you something simple like a zoro style one or something as have material etc here, that way you don't have to worry about the feathers etc lol.................

    Hi Paul

Lot's of fancy dress shops in Dundee area One already mentioned - just up the road from bus station - heading up to city towards Wellgate centre- actually a newspapershop, but have quite a lot of stuff at the back - there's also two shops off Perth road - quite far out of town, but easy enough to find (passed Uni and a few hundred yards up - one each side of the road). There's also one in Broughtyferry - just next to car-park to Broughtyferry Medical centre in Brown Street (parallell street to Gillies furniture shop - carpet department). Good luck

    Mon x

They're quite easy to handmake, by the way: for example using plaster bandages.

I've been wondering the same thing. Though it is for Route 66 this Friday instead (I would have loved to get up to Brechin but I'm going up to Aberdeen the next weekend so two trips would just be too much ).

I've got no idea what mask to wear either. Maybe a Jason mask and a chainsaw .

    Ok Paul,

If you haven't sorted out your mask yet try Utopia Costumes in Bellfield Street opposite the Whitehall Theatre ...........wonderful people and they will make you a mask to match your outfit....assuming you have got that sorted....don't know about all this DIY stuff though I've hardly time to make a play piece at the moment never mind a mask. Good luck, see you Saturday for marks out of 10, Charlie.

    Re: Masked Ball Panic

Utopia Costumes have actually moved;I went to Bellfield Street a couple of months ago but they've now moved to Perth Road, opposite the indian restaurant(Dil Se).

I won't be at the ball... small matter of a work Xmas night out that night
Hope everyone has a great time.

    I got my mask today!

It's from Carters in Perth - they have a lovely selection, if anyone round here's looking for one. Accessorize have nice feathery ones in too (not quite your style though pmjd! ).

    Roll on Saturday!

(Sorry to hear you won't make it Firefly. )
