    Name that tune?

I have a five year old autistic child in my class who likes to play a music game with me. It goes along the lines of he sings lyrics from a song he has listened to (this can be upwards of six months ago) and I then find the music and play it back to him. This has been a source of amusement/frustration for him because I have always managed to tell him the track very quickly. We have in the past covered as wide a range as Bob Marley to Feeder via the awful monster song. However today's has got me stumped.
The lyrics are something like 'going to the country gonna eat a lot of peaches' and something about a man putting them in a can. I'm convinced this is a track he's listened to but my colleagues think he's made it up.
Can anyone tell me if I'm correct?

    "Peaches" (by who though?)

    [Chorus:]
    Movin' to the country,
gonna eat a lot of peaches
    Movin' to the country,
Gonna eat me a lot of peaches
    Movin' to the country,
gonna eat a lot of peaches
    Movin' to the country,
gonna eat a lot of peaches
    (Wow)

    Peaches come from a can,
they were put there by a man
    In a factory downtown
If I had my little way,
    I'd eat peaches every day
    Sun-soakin' bulges in the shade

    [Chorus]

Take a little naps where the roots all twist
Squished a rotten peach in my fist
    And dreamed about you, woman,
I poked my finger down inside
Make a little room a man to hide
Nature's candy in my hand or can or a pie

Millions of peaches, peaches for me
Millions of peaches, peaches for free
Millions of peaches, peaches for me
Millions of peaches, peaches for free
Millions of peaches, peaches for me
Millions of peaches, peaches for free
Millions of peaches, peaches for me
Millions of peaches, peaches for free

    I think it's by "Busted"

They have it on iTunes, so you can have a listen and check it out.

Was by a band called The Presidents of the USA.

They also done a much better song called Lump. Was two guitarist brothers and a drummer. One guitarist played with 4 Bottom E strings tuned 1 step up each to cover the bass parts.

Many thanks to Beowulf for the lyrics. Yes that is what was sung to me with gentle guitar strumming to accompany the singing. Thanks also to Tiggerbabe. I'm off to itunes. I'll have to choose between versions methinks.

Yup beo got the lyrics and woodface got the artist. I only remembered because the video was randomly on one of the music channels that I flicked onto a few weeks back

Knew the song from when I used to play it in my old band many years ago.

(the song is about 10 years old BTW (unless it's been re-released by another band))

My word, that brings back memories! I knew the answer to that one too, which surprises me cos I'm normally not too good on music from a while ago. I wanna play more now! That's gotta go down in the Memory Lane Hall of Fame, along with other roughly contemporary (give or take a year) songs such as Ready to Go by Republica and Chubbawumba Tubthumping!

Can we not turn the tables and test your son instead?! Forumites could pick songs for you to play and he could guess. Ooh, you've got me all nostalgic and excited now!

Got me. No idea. Same era. Sorry dance cat. Seem to be hijacking your thread. It's a great idea though!
