    Visit to Aberdeen

I will be up in Aberdeen on the 12th and 13th (Tue and Wed, week after next) and very much look forward to some excellent dances.

If anyone could offer me a lift from the Dyce area to Peterculter for the Tuesday - I would be most grateful!! I will be staying in the Marriot

thanks in advance - and see you soon

Alternatively - if I get a bus or a train into town, would someone be able to give me a lift from there???

    Nick..

Hiya. The Aberdeen Marriot is right round the corner from my Work. Unfortunately I don't drive but I normally leave the around 4 and could speak to the colleague that gives me a lift home if he could take you along too.

I also go to Culter mills in Peterculter on a Tuesday and usually cook dinner for Gadget + co before Gadget gives me a lift out, again I'd have to ask Gadget if he has a spare seat in his car.

But in theory it does seem possible that I could get you a lift into town, cook you dinner with some other forumites and get you a lift out to dancing on the Tuesday. However I can't say for definite as it's dependant on other people. Also getting you back out to the Marriot in Dyce post dancing may be problematic. I don't know what times the X18 bus service stops at (stops right across the road from the Marriot). Will Look into things and keep you informed

Thanks Pete - I am unlikely to be finished working before 5:30/6, but if there's a spare seat going from town, that would be great. In terms of returning, I can get a cab from town, no worries

no worries.. we normally meet at my place for 6, eat, then leave around 7:00pm. If Gadget's up for giving you a lift out I'll PM you directions to my place and you can get a lift from there.

    No problem

Makeing the Marriot en-route home may involve a bit of spacial displacement, but I'm sure something can be worked out.

AH! C.O.? Oh, ok. That makes sense now

Nick, if you can make it into town (there's a bus) then we'll look after you from there :-) Even if I have to go so far as to drive

Do you want to dance on the Wednesday night at J.Jacks. If so, I am happy to pick you up en-route (with some of Gadget's serious spacial displacement) from the Bridge of Don and drop you off afterwards.

Thanks for the offers, folks, and sorry for the later reply (I have been out of the UK)

I will PM you my mobile, and we can finalise details on the Tues. I will make it into town, and a lift from there would be wonderful, thanks

    Re: Visit to Aberdeen

    Two excellent nights in Aberdeen!

    Thanks in particular go to

    • Gadget, for the welcome to Petercultur, and the lift home
    • Genie for some gorgeous dances (especially the last one)
    • Lisa, for the welcome to Jumping Jax, and for some stunning experiences on the dancefloor
    • Emma, for three great moves to try out on the unsuspecting ladies of Bath
    • Trampy, for a well balanced and eminently danceable set
    • The Grampian Fire Service, for promptly reopening Jumping Jax
    • All the lovely ladies of Aberdeen with whom I had the pleasure. I may not have caught all your names, but the dancing was top-notch

Thanks - see you again soon I hope

That was Steve Tyrell - Witchcraft. And thanks to Tessalicious for the suggestion of playing it. Was in one of her playlists posted on the forum

Nice to see you too Nick. Look forward to your next visit up to Scotland!
