What about that Australian bloke. married with 2 kids and stabbed in the heart by a sting ray.
What's wrong with sitting in the paddling pool with the kids & a rubber duck.
Listening to the radio this morning and they were doing a thing on things we do as humans that do not make sense. Rock climbing for example, we sweat our nuts off climbing up the side of a rock to get to the summit and say,, Fantastic im at the top... why do we do it....swimming with Sharks, again, do they realise how big the teeth are on those babies.....Why oh Why...
Any other things that dont make sense to you??

It's all about taking risks, pushing outside of your "comfort zone" and making yourself feel alive!
Bit like the balcony at Ashtons.
Well, why do anything? In the long run, we're all dead anyway, what's the point of anything?
Hmmm, that sounds depressing.
What I meant was, people do stuff because they enjoy it, because it makes them grow as individuals, or both. Just because we don't like it, doesn't mean the experience has no meaning or worth for them.
Although, of course, only a complete nutter goes dancing at Bromley
nah your taking it too deep... i mean things like
why do we make a write in the air signal when we ask for the bill ....
or,
why do we hold our hand to our ear when you tell sombody your on the phone.....
Not just rock climbing - why do we waste energy by prancing about with a partner in time (sometimes) to music?
As gav says it's about making yourself happy and feel alive
I told you it's because it's not allowed on park benches and there's no room for it in my shopping trolley.
and you promised you wouldn't tease me about being so poor that I can't afford a TV.
Yes, it's true I really don't have a TV.
If I'm not out dancing myself, I may hijack a friends TV to watch SCD. Apart from that IMHO it's not worth having it for 999 channels of cac, when I could be doing something much more useful or interesting instead.
I spent many years wasting time in front of a TV, then when I found myself without one temporarily, I discovered loads of other stuff to do. Before long I found I no longer had time to veg out in front of it, so I never bothered buying one.
Fishing
What IS the point of fishing?
You sit there for hours, freezing cold, in a small boat in a lake (or on the bank) to finally catch a fish - only to take the hook out of it's mouth and throw it back into the lake!!
But again, you could say that about, well, anything.
For example:
-------------------------------------
Breathing.
What IS the point of breathing?
You sit there for decades, breathing in and out all the time, no matter what, waking or sleeping - only to die at the end, all that effort wasted.
-------------------------------------
normal people eat it as well
That'd be non-verbal communication used to help convey meaning. Might as well ask why we shake our head no , nod our head yes, and wave goodbye etc...why do we make a write in the air signal when we ask for the bill ....
or,
why do we hold our hand to our ear when you tell sombody your on the phone.....
Women, what's that all about?
